I just wanted to thank you for the gift certificate from Angie's Spa. Last week I was able to use the certificate for an acupuncture session for ongoing post mastectomy pain. Admittedly I was skeptical about trying acupuncture, and didn't have a lot of faith that it would help me. But my goal is to be on as little pain medication as possible, so frankly, I'll try just about anything.

For the first time in a long time, I was able to go through the week without using any pain medication at all. I am going to continue with the acupuncture session as long as there is relief. and without Angie's Spa, I don't think I would have even given it a chance.

Hopefully Angie's Spa will be able to continue to provide cancer patients with hope from relief from the difficulties of dealing with cancer. Thanks so much for your help.

Angie's Spa 2012-2013 Grant Awards

Angie's Spa is pleased to announce the funding of 5 programs for 2012-13. With the money provided by Angie's Spa, all these programs will be providing their services FREE to both men and women cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy for any form of cancer. These awards are in addition to the $21,000 distributed to MD Anderson Cancer Center this past March bringing grand total of $87,500.00 of grants.

1. Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Northridge, CA- $40,000, a continuing grant to provide FREE therapeutic massages for men and women with any type of cancer, inpatients and outpatients. In addition Northridge has been offered a matching fundraising grant of up to $3000.

2. Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT- $25,000, a continuing grant to provide FREE therapeutic massages, acupuncture, reflexology and yoga for all as well as manicures and haircuts for inpatients.

3. Southampton Hospital, Southampton, NY- $7500, a continuing grant to provide FREE therapeutic massages and reiki for outpatients undergoing chemotherapy.

4. HealthAlliance Hospital of UMass Memorial Medical Center, Fitchburg MA, $15,000- a new program providing FREE therapeutic massages, acupuncture and therapeutic yoga for outpatients

5. University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center, Deerfield Beach, FL, $20,000-a new program funding FREE therapeutic massages.
