Our Mission

Angie’s Spa provides grants to fund FREE (in-hospital) massages and other integrative medicine services to men and women undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. These services are designed to alleviate painful side effects, provide relaxation to enhance traditional treatments, and give cancer patients a self-esteem boost. All Angie's Spa massage therapists are certified in oncology massage. Angie’s Spa is an all volunteer  501(c)(3) charitable organization that is funded entirely through private donations; 100% of donations go directly toward our hospital programs.

Program Descriptions

 

MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX

Place of Wellness and Integrative Medicine Program

One Year Grant awarded March 1, 2011-2012, $19.872.

Funds to be used to provide certified massage therapists for the Ambulatory Treatment Center, Place of Wellness Clinics, and Inpatient Massage Therapy Service.

 

Hartford Hospital, Hartford CT

Helen & Harry Gray Center

One Year Grant awarded July 15, 2011-12 $25,000

Funds to be used for  vouchers for the spa service of their choice that include: therapeutic massages, acupuncture, facials, makeovers, manicures, reflexology, or reiki.  Treatments to be provided at the Helen & Harry Gray Center in Hartford and Avon, The Integrative Medicine Department in Hartford, and Blue Back Square in West Hartford.

 

Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Northridge, CA

Thomas and Dorothy Leavy Cancer Center

One Year Grant awarded July 1, 2011- $36,000

Funds to be used to provide FREE 120 therapeutic massages per month for both inpatients and outpatient undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment.

 

Southampton Hospital, Southampton, NY,

Ellen Hermanson Breast Cancer Center and Integrative Medicine Department

One Year Grant awarded June 23, 2010-11 EXTENDED- $12,000

Funds to be used to provide FREE therapeutic massages, acupuncture, and Reiki.

 

 

Angie's Spa is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Contributions to Angie's Spa are tax-exempt under section 170 of the Code.
