Executive Director

Nancy is a cancer survivor.  Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998, one year before Angie, Nancy is fortunate that her cancer remains in remission. She currently devotes her time and energy to being the Executive Director of Angie’s Spa. Like the rest of the team, Nancy receives no salary for her work. 100% of the donations go directly to the patients. Nancy said having cancer makes you re-think your life and your priorities.  After her treatment, Nancy retired from Berry Relocation, the busy move management firm that she founded and ran for 15 years in order to devote herself to making a difference to the lives of cancer patients. The original concept was to lessen stress and pain for patients, and Nancy is pleased that we are doing that, but she is also thrilled that our patient data is being used to study massage therapy and other holistic treatments as adjunct treatment for cancer patients.  It is exciting to be part of that research. Nancy’s hope someday is that these treatments will be available for all patients in every hospital.

Joanna Brinen Klein
President

Born and raised in Boston, MA, Joanna was roommates with Angie at Emory University and remained a close friend throughout Angie's life. Now living in Los Angeles, Joanna is married with 2 young children and is the Vice President of Drama Development for the CW television network.  She says the idea of Angie's Spa would have pleased Angie and will be a wonderful memorial to her. Angie always said she wanted to have her own spa and now she does.Ronna Levy
"Angie's Mom"
Angie's Mom is very proud to be known on our team by this title. One of Ronna's fondest memories of Angie is that she was always "beautiful." Her nails and toes were always "done" and her makeup was always "on," even during chemo.  Angie felt so much better when she looked her best, and as her mother, it always cheered Ronna up to see that Angie still had the desire to be a lady, despite what she was going through. Knowing that this spa will give that extra boost of self esteem to other patients would have made Angie extremely proud.  Angie dreamt of doing something of this nature, and often mentioned it to Ronna.  She knows that Angie would have loved to have been able to contribute her time and effort to this incredible endeavor that has been created in her memory.
Ronna would also like to offer to talk to any family members of loved ones who are going through chemo. Although she is certainly not an expert on medical advice, she'd like to share her knowledge of how it feels to be the mother of a sick child. It would be her pleasure to share her thoughts with others going through this difficult time.
